sweater is made of a very soft, fairly heavy but fine synthetic knit. It's warm and very soft, better than I expected. Not itchy! The sweater stretches a lot, and is very comfortable to wear, but it does ride up my hips, so that the waistband rests at my navel level. it doesn't bother me too much, just know that the sweater is not long. I'm happy with it.
